vBriefings, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit educational corporation. This license is intentionally permissive so the Materials can be freely shared and adapted to advance animal rights and vegan advocacy.
All content published on vBriefings.org, including but not limited to written briefings, downloadable slides, visuals, and flashcards distributed through Brainscape (collectively, the “Materials”), is the intellectual property of vBriefings, unless otherwise stated. All rights are reserved except as expressly granted in this license.
By downloading, accessing, using, copying, adapting, distributing, or displaying any of the Materials, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by the terms of this license. If you do not agree to these terms, you are not authorized to use the Materials.
By accessing or using the Materials, you agree to the following terms:
- Devived Materials. You are encouraged to use the materials as is, or modify, adapt, remix, translate, redesign, or otherwise create derivative works, all subject only to the purpose and affiliation restrictions outlined below.
- Attribution. You are not required to attribute vBriefing as the source of the material, but you are encouraged to do so. Acceptable example language includes:
- “Derived from vBriefings.org”
- “Adapted from content by vBriefings.org”
- “Based on materials from vBriefings.org”
- Notification. We would appreciate being notified of any use, especially substantial use of the Materials, by emailing team@vbriefings.org. This helps us understand how the Materials are used, improve future versions, and support others engaged in advocacy. It also helps demonstrate the project’s value and credibility, supporting our ability to continue developing and expanding the Materials. Notification is requested but not required.
- Purpose Restriction. The Materials may be used only for purposes that promote, advance, or support animal rights and vegan advocacy, animal protection, and the ethical consideration of nonhuman animals. Any use that conflicts with, undermines, or is inconsistent with these purposes is expressly prohibited. Any adaptations of the Materials may not misrepresent, distort, or materially undermine the ethical intent of the original Materials, or be made in a manner that diminishes, trivializes, or contradicts the principles of animal rights and vegan advocacy.
- No Implied Affiliation or Endorsement. You may not state, imply, or suggest that you or your organization is affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or acting on behalf of vBriefings, unless you have obtained prior written authorization from vBriefings.
- Termination for Breach. Any failure to comply with the terms of this license automatically and immediately terminates your permission to use the Materials. Upon termination, you must cease all use, distribution, and display of the Materials and any derivative works based on them.
- Reservation of Rights. All rights not expressly granted in this license are reserved by vBriefings.
- No Warranty. The Materials are provided “as is,” without warranty of any kind, express or implied.
- Governing Law. This license shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Alabama, United States of America, without regard to conflict of law principles.
