Greg Fuller is the founder and director of vBriefings, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting veganism and advancing animal rights through accessible, evidence-based educational content. More on vBriefings shortly—but first, a little history to explain how it all began.
In 2013, Greg founded Birmingham Vegans, his first vegan initiative. What began with just a handful of attendees at the first meeting has grown into a thriving community with over 1,800 members and 4,400 Facebook followers. The group has hosted more than 500 events, including potlucks, game nights, hikes, educational forums, and social outings. Twice a year, Birmingham Vegans hosts the city’s vegan festival, featuring over 70 vendors and thousands of attendees.
Starting in 2014, Greg devoted much of his time to traveling and working alongside animal rights organizations across the U.S. His activism has included street outreach, public speaking, tabling, leafleting, marches, protests, banner drops, and other forms of advocacy.
He has carried out this work in numerous cities, including Miami, Jacksonville, Fort Lauderdale, Asheville, Boulder, Denver, Salt Lake City, Vancouver BC, Seattle, Bellevue, Tacoma, San Francisco, Oakland, Berkeley, Palo Alto, Mountain View, Santa Monica, Los Angeles, Long Beach, Oceanside, San Diego, and Birmingham. He has delivered talks in several of these cities, including a 2019 keynote address at Birmingham VeganFest.
In 2016, Greg launched the informational website JusticeforAnimals. A few years later, in 2019, he also helped launch Justice for Animals Outreach, a Seattle-based nonprofit that engages the public through street outreach using videos, personal conversations, and supporting literature to educate on animal agriculture and animal rights.
During the COVID pandemic, Greg began rethinking the structure and purpose of his original website. That reflection led to the development of something fundamentally different: vBriefings.org. The concept for the vBriefings platform was shaped by Greg’s years of direct experience, particularly the hundreds of one-on-one conversations he had while conducting outreach and delivering talks.
As it developed, the vBriefings platform went through multiple design prototypes and refinements, guided by feedback from a trusted circle of advisors. The greatest challenge has been creating a structure that effectively serves diverse audiences—veg-curious individuals, everyday vegans, and committed activists alike.
